Kara performed Target Practice at Little City Books in September.

An excerpt of Kara’s new play Velma’s Plot was produced on First Kiss Theatre’s “Play-Mates” podcast.

Kara joined Playwrights Horizons as their Marketing Fellow in August.

A staged reading of Jenny’s Doll Hospital was presented at The Tank’s LimeFest on August 21st at 7pm.

Kara studied devising with Michael Breslin and Patrick Foley of Fake Friends in August.

Kara performed new material from POPPER with Ryan Howzell on May 26th at Brooklyn Art Haus for Cocktober 3.0.

POPPER premiered at The Brick’s ?!:New Works Festival on April 26th and 27th.

Sonnets from a Sin-Eater won the Queerly Award at NYC Fringe.

The Young-Howze Theatre Journal wrote that Sonnets from a Sin-Eater was “the best bang for one’s production dollar that we have seen in the Fringe to date!”

Sonnets from a Sin-Eater premiered at Under St. Marks Theater from April 4th-19th as part of NYC Fringe.

Kara was named a Finalist for First Kiss Theatre’s summer residency.

Kara worked as a dramaturg on The Birth of MonstHER, which premiered at The Brick on April 10th and 17th.

Sonnets from a Sin-Eater was named a Finalist for Spectrum Theater Ensemble’s Neurodiversity New Play Festival.

Pigeon House was named a Semi-Finalist for SheNYC.

2023

Kara performed in a staged reading of t4t by Nina Kolman.

Kara moved to Brooklyn, NY.

Kara served as a historical consultant for Jeff Augustin on TV projects in development with Hulu and Element Pictures.

Over the summer, Kara was the Creative Producing Fellow at the Celebration Barn Theater in South Paris, ME.

Kara was awarded the Hubbard Hutchinson Fellowship in Theatre for outstanding achievement and promise in the arts.

A workshop performance of Sonnets from a Sin-Eater was presented at Wunderbar Syracuse on May 27th.

Kara was an artist-in-residence with Breadcrumbs Productions in May.

Kara worked as director and dramaturg of CANNIBAL is a SLUR, which had a workshop performance at Ohio State University on February 12th.

Kara was hired by Williams College to do dramaturgical work on a trans reimagining of The Baltimore Waltz, directed by Eva Wolfson.

Kara graduated magna cum laude from Williams College with a BA in Theatre and History.
